     MIG-29 Fulcrum is a single seat air superiority fighter produced by Moscow Aircraft Production Organization MiG (MAPO MIG). The Mig-29 is powered by two Tumansky RD-33 turbofans with afterburner. Mig-29 has one 30 mm. cannon and air to air missiles. Mig-29 enter the service since 1983. The range is the week point, and later version were modified to carry more fuel , the development of advanced Mig-29M version has been funded . Mig-29 has a mechanical control system, while Mig-29M has an electrical control system. The Mig-29K is the fighter used by The Russian Naval Air Force.The Mig-29 series are known by the NATO code name Fulcrum.The mission of Mig-29 is to destroy hostile air targets within radar coverage limits and also to destroy ground targets using unguided weapons in visual flight conditions.
       The Russian air force has begun an upgrade program . The upgrade comprises of increased range and payload , new glass cockpit , new avionics , improve radar and an inflight refueling probe.
       DaimlerChryler Aerospace (DASA) is also upgrade Mig-29 aircraft of the Polish Air Force. the modifications are needed to adapt the aircraft to NATO standards, prior to poland's entry into NATO. The DASA also has performed similar modifications to the Mig-29 of the East German Air Force.

The engines of Mig-29 , during flight the open air intakes feed air to the engines, while moving on the ground the air intakes are closed and air is fed through the louvers on the upper surface of the wing root to prevent foreign objects from the runway.
